Mission

The American Board of Assessment Psychology (ABAP) was organized in 1993 to establish and promote standards for psychologists who specialize in assessment. ABAP has adopted the 2003 American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct.

Assessment Psychology is a specialty area within psychology which emphasizes the development, use and interpretation of tests based on psychological theory, knowledge and principles.

ABAP is the only international certification board for doctoral level psychologists with specialized expertise in psychological testing, test development and test battery administration.
